Anyone wants to wager a guess on what this is?
The closeup is a result of cropping a larger image, rather than an intentional macro shot. Thus the not-too-ideal resolution.
But I decided to do a crop anyway because I felt the details were more interesting than the whole image itself. I love the texture and irregular shapes of the “thing”. Oh, and the colour is just amazing lush and rich. I believe fushia pink is the colour rite?

this ball like looking flower that looks like crumpled velvet cloth
It’s a flower. I googled “velvet texture flower” on google to try and find the name of it. My grandmother brought some seeds when she came back from a trip, and we planted them in our yard. The flowers are over 7 feet tall, huge green and red leaves, and they started blooming like that in August and are still blooming! The flowers are stiff, and velvety…and grow in clusters. If anyone finds what the name of the flower is…please email me!
