Hitting the sweet spot
Just 4 seeds of the deliciously creamy 猫山榴连 and my satisfaction level shot over the charts.
Yum!
I used to think that the famous D24 was the king of durian, until mum introduced me to the 猫山 variety when we were in the northern part of Johor. Eversince then, it’s been 猫山 for me all the way. Thankfully this type of durian has become so much more common and easily available in Singapore recently but it surely doesn’t come cheap.
Today’s satisfying desert came at a hefty price of $38/styrofoam box. Well, for some, $38 is a small price to pay for a taste of heaven…hee… but for me, I will reserve it only for occasional splurges
Oh I could have eaten more and thrown caution to the wind, but being a mother-to-be has taught me that I have to consider lil Qiqi’s health whenever I eat something.
So all things delicious in moderation please.
By delicious, I mean goodies like port, caffeine and sugar – and durian is very high in sugar.
Still, indulgence in little pleasures like this evening keeps a pregnant woman sane amidst the massive hormonal fluctuations and ever gravid swelling
Countdown: 8 more weeks to go.
