36 weeks today!

In just one more week, Qiqi would be considered full term. And so the date for our rendezvous draws closer

In my mind, I keep thinking that we have about 4-5 weeks more before we meet Qiqi, but good old dr. kit reminded me that I can expect to deliver anytime from 37 weeks onwards.

That kinda jolted me. Gosh, that’s like er… next week??

But I’m praying that Qiqi will hang in there till the end, so she develops more strength and gains a good weight. Have heard that chances of successful breastfeeding are higher with a baby born closer to EDD.

I’ve decided on natural birth and will be taking Epidural, or as Lilmssnooze’s gynae calls it – “happydural”

Call me trite, haha… but I’m planning what I should be doing while waiting for Qiqi to pop in the delivery suite.

If all things go my way and I do get to be on epidural early on in labour, I would probably need some form of “entertainment” to tie me through the waiting period while my cervix is dilating.

Let’s see, what my current “entertainment” options are:

1. Catch up on the latest season of House or some Korean movie
2. Build my dream real estate on SIMS 2
3. Play 7 Wonders or something similar (love that genre!)
4. Take photos in the labour room to document those significant hours
5. Read a novel (any recommendations?)
6. Blog (I wonder if they have wireless Internet access in the labour room)

But of course who knows what will happen. Murphy’s Law might just kick in such moments and all our birth plans thrown out the window.

Still, no harm done in a little planning, even if it may turn out to be wishful thinking on my part :)
